Dr Christine Cheong
Dr Christine Cheong grew up in Malaysia and had two years of pre-med training there; then subsequently completed her medical degree, early medical career and specialist training all within Tasmania. She worked across North West Regional Hospital in Burnie and Royal Hobart Hospital before eventually pursuing GP training. She attained her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2023.
Coming from a multicultural and multilingual background, Christine is passionate about providing inclusive, respectful care and bridging health inequalities, especially within culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. She also has a keen interest in women’s health, in particular contraception and pregnancy care.
Outside of clinical work, she strives to maintain a healthy work-life balance and prioritises spending time with her young kids

- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
