Dr Lachlan Fieldhouse
Dr Fieldhouse holds a Bachelor of Medicine from Newcastle University, a Fellowship with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, and a Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He has worked in prison medicine, aged care settings, high school medicine, and ran a small rural NZ practice. He has a wide range of primary healthcare skills, and has worked in Medical Administration for the Department of Immigration Detention Centre network on Christmas Island during 2013 as Area Medical Director, and is currently Director of Clinical Services for Tasmania for the Better Medical Group.
Dr Fieldhouse has been a specialist registered General Practitioner since 2012. He has been a passionate Medical Educator and GP Supervisor in the past in Australia and NZ, and was employed as the Director of Training for General Practice Training Tasmania. He has worked as a National Clinical Lead, Future Leaders Mentor and fellowship education program exam question writer and standard setter for the RACGP. His special interests include child health, mental health (Autism, Mood disorders, Addiction Medicine), male health issues, and working with people to better understand the nature and origin of complex symptoms across the lifespan. He strives to deliver patient centred non-judgemental supportive and comprehensive care to people representing all of society. He works part-time at Sandy Bay Clinic.
